Can you wear headphones with a tragus piercing?

Writer David Wilson

The most important thing to remember is that in the event that you maintain your ear and the piercings on the tragus, you shouldn’t have problems wearing earbuds, provided that the jewelry is large (especially with a hoop design).

There’s no need to. It is only possible to wear earbuds that do not get into the ear canal. However, you need to wash them regularly and ensure they’re not filthy. If you’re planning to wear headphones, do not. They cause unnecessary aggravation to the area of the piercing, and they’re probably dirty and have a myriad of bacteria, therefore it’s obvious that you shouldn’t let the earbuds touch the tragus that is fresh. Also, wearing earbuds while having the piercing of a tragus (especially one that is fresh) is definitely uncomfortable. Buy a pair of on-ear headphones or do not listen to music with headphones in any way. Wearing headphones in conjunction with any type of ear piercings that are fresh is not a good idea at all, however, we do it regardless. It’s just important to ensure they’re not filthy, and we ought to be fine. But not with a Tragus. Avoid using headphones that go into the ear until the piercing has healed.

Personally, I’ve had mine done for a few months however, the day that I had it done, I could use headphones with my Galaxy Buds and the earbuds included from the Note phone (as one of the people who called me stated). It could depend on the anatomy of your body, where you got the piercing, what type of headphones or earbuds you’re using, and, of course, jewelry. I have a type of labret ring and all I needed to do was push it gently on the flat side to the side so that it was in a straight line against my ear. After that, I had to be VERY VERY careful to put my earbuds in. Be sure that if you’re wearing Earbuds that you wash and clean them thoroughly prior to doing this, however, to prevent infection. But I’ve had the tragus and the tooth done and neither of them caused any issues with my earbuds. The faith was the one that gave me more issues because it was more painful and irritated my tragus.
