Can you work out after microblading?

After the microblading appointment, you should avoid working out for a period of 7 days. Microblading is an invasive procedure and can cause excessive swelling if you over-exert yourself. It is best to let the microblading heal fully before toning back up at the gym. Once you are able to work out again it’s important that you don’t get your brows wet for 24 hours after working out.

Microblading is a form of tattooing. It involves inserting tiny needles into your dermis to deposit pigment. During this process, you risk introducing bacteria and other contaminants deep into the body, which could result in infection if not treated properly.
When should you start working out after microblading?
To help reduce swelling it’s best to wait 24-48 hours after the procedure before exercising. After this time period has passed you can return to the gym without worrying about excess swelling or health risks associated with bacteria being introduced during exercise.
How long do eyebrows take to heal?
Eyebrows that have been microbladed will take approximately 1 week to reach their set point. Because every individual heals differently it is impossible for us to forecast the time period your brows will take to heal completely.
After a microblading procedure, it is impossible to wash your eyebrows until the client has received an aftercare kit. This kit usually includes antibacterial cream and detailed instructions on how to correctly maintain their new look, which includes avoiding water for 24 hours post-workout.
What should you do if you work out before healing from the procedure?
If you do exercise before the procedure has healed properly it is possible for bacteria to enter your skin and cause an infection. This can lead to redness, swelling, and irritation along your brow lines. Irritation associated with microblading makes it difficult to apply makeup, which could result in subpar results. People that exercise before their procedure has healed tend to experience issues with swelling that could last for days after the touch-up appointment.
