Can you workout after a spray tan?

Writer John Campbell

It is recommended not to engage in any workout after a spray tan appointment. Spray-on tan is extremely vulnerable right after your tanning session.

Why should you not work out after a spray tan?

It is recommended not to work out after spray tan, because it can easily get off or even worse fade faster.

Physical activity right after a spray tan will remove your tan faster than you think.

Exercise vigorously works up a sweat and sweaty muscles are great at removing dead cells from the surface of your skin, resulting in fading tan away much sooner. Work out makes way for premature fading which is not what you want when you have worked so hard on getting that gorgeous look during your appointment.

One other reason why you don’t want to work out soon after your session is that there could be some areas where the bronzer didn’t make full contact with the skin and if you were to exercise those areas would be more obvious than others and that is something that you want to avoid.

How long should you take after a spray tan to work out?

It is recommended to wait for about 4 hours after your spray tan appointment. This will give enough time for the solution to dry and become less vulnerable and more durable.

Take a walk or do some light exercise at home instead of going to work out directly after your spray tan appointment.

At what point you can start working out again after a spray tan?

You can work out right after you come back from your tanning session – as long as there is no sweat involved. If you want to go swimming – it is recommended to wait for about 8 hours after spray-on tan application.

Are there any effects of working out after spray tan?

If you workout too early after your spray-on tan, the solution will come off and you will appear to lack a certain glow.
