Spiders And Water

If you are wondering if spiders drink water, then the answer is definitely yes. Spiders do need water to survive. However, the amount of water that they drink or don’t drink is questionable.

In The Wild

When spiders are in the wild, they will find water on their own. Spiders will drink any kind of fluid or water that they can get from other animals or any kind of source that has water that is readily available for them to access and drink.

In Captivity

Spiders that are in captivity  will definitely need some kind of water source, which is essential for their growth and survival as well. It’s essential that you provide spiders with a water source that is fresh. The amount of water that a spider drinks will also depend on the spider type as well as how big the spider is.

Interestingly, spiders can go months at a time without food or water. In general, house spiders can go long periods without water as well. At the same time, water is more important for spiders to survive. Without water, spiders will slowly start to die. So, even though they are able to go a long time without any food or water, spiders will eventually need water more than they need food.

Conclusions

If you have a spider as a pet, then  you definitely need to provide it with freshwater. Even though spiders are able to go a long period of time without any food or water, they will eventually start to die, especially if they don’t get any water. So, water is essential for all spiders to drink.
