Do You Have To Remove Trim To Install Laminate Flooring?

For the vast majority of flooring projects, you don’t need to remove the existing baseboards first. If you want a different baseboard height or a different style to match the overall look of your remodel, you can remove the baseboards and replace them at the same time as installing the flooring.

Do you have to remove trim to install vinyl flooring?

Trim Moldings should be removed.Remove the trim that comes into contact with the floor whenever possible for ease of installation. Baseboards, base shoe moldings, and case moldings around doors are included in this category of moldings. Removing doors from their hinges can often be helpful in the installation process as well.

Does laminate go under trim?

If you have laminate flooring that is installed on top of a subfloor, it will expand and contract. It’s better to leave a gap than to risk buckling, and the baseboards will hide it when you’re done.
