Cedar chips repel mosquitoes. The reason is that mosquitoes consider cedar a threat and don’t like being in its vicinity. The natural components found in cedar chips act as a repellent and aids in its ability to ward off the persistent mosquitoes. Don’t overwater the chips. Overwatering it could invite unwanted mosquitoes, guests! The chips are not always in the vicinity, but in the vicinity of your home as well.

Make sure you get cedar mulch at least 2 inches thick. Anything thicker is not recommended. 

When cedar chips get dried

Nearly all insects love wood due to its moist character, so the majority of mosquitoes love humid areas and woods are not out of the equation.
