Slugs are the creepiest creatures that nobody wants to be with. Even when you think that they’re not in your yard or in your garden you can be sure they’re there. Cedar mulch as a repellent

There are a variety of options for managing or controlling Slugs. The most important is to eradicate their habitat. Make sure there is no debris in the garden which provides a hideaway. Encourage air movement. The use of less mulch might not be practical, but it will help decrease the number of slugs. Certain plants can be mulched and do not require mulching. Certain mulch materials tend to be less appealing to slugs. Pine needles, cedar mulch, and crushed, rinsed eggshells are known to repel slugs because of odor or resin, or sharp edges. Slugs may find certain plants less appealing. While some hosts appear to attract slugs as magnets, many of the blue ones or ones having “waffled” leaves appear unaffected. Ivy, succulents, and ripening vegetables are delicious food sources.

Precautionary measure

Fine soil that has lots of organic matter the soil that is rich in the organic matter doesn’t have many crevices in which slugs can lay eggs. It is recommended to employ gardening tools that leave an even surface of the ground (such as rakes and grubbers) instead of those that create deep crevices like hoes.
