It is undeniably true that bees are an essential component of our ecosystem. It is estimated that the honey bee is responsible for pollinating one out of every three bites of food we consume, as they pollinate a large number of the plants that we (and our livestock) consume on a daily basis.

Bees, on the other hand, are not always a pleasant sight to behold. Whether you have a severe phobia of bees or a life-threatening allergy to bee venom, you should avoid them at all costs. It’s possible that the buzzing sound of a bee will make you cringe. Alternatively, scream wildly and dash inside. For those of you who have lavender in your yard, you may already be aware of how bees are drawn to it when it is in bloom, as it attracts them like a magnet. This is due to the fact that the fragrant plant provides both pollen and nectar for the bees to feed on.

Lavender

Bees are the only insects you’ll see in and around lavender fields. They are attracted to the flowers, but other insects stay away. Lavender has a a wonderful scent that comes from the essential oils found in the plant’s leaves, but it is repulsive to bees. Flowers with a delicate scent, lavender is highly prized for their beauty and aromatic qualities. In fact, the essential oil extracted from the flowers is used for a variety of applications, including aromatherapy. Bees and mosquitoes are frequently seen buzzing around lavender plants. 

The shrubs are in full bloom throughout the summer, with tall, densely packed, slender stems that are lined with flowers. Despite the fact that the plant itself attracts pollinators (including wasps), the essential oil has the opposite effect on bees and mosquitoes. However, despite the fact that lavender has a pleasant scent that many people enjoy, bees and mosquitoes are attracted to it because they dislike the scent it emits. 

Lavender can be used to repel bees and mosquitoes by planting it in gardens, extracting the oil and applying it to the skin, or mixing it with other oils. When it comes to keeping bees away from your home, essential oils from lavender are the most effective method. However, you can’t just use any oil you find on the shelf. The following are the ones that strongly recommend: Other natural and safe methods of keeping bees away from your property are available in addition to the use of these products to aid in their deterrence. However, because they are not as versatile as essential oils, you may need to be a little more inventive when employing them to achieve the desired results.

Lavender attracts bees

Bees were responsible for 85 percent of all visitors to the garden. Bumblebees were the most frequent visitors, followed by honeybees and a few solitary bees, all of which were present in large numbers. Bumblebees were most attracted to lavender varieties that had been selectively bred, such as grosso, hidcote giant, and gros blue, as well as large single-flowered dahlias in large blooms.
