Does Trafficmaster Flooring Need Underlayment?

In the process of laying new flooring, underlayment is just as important as the actual flooring itself. Laminate and engineered wood floors are great candidates for TrafficMaster’s 3-in-1 floor underlayment. Underlayment isn’t included, but it’s a must. TrafficMaster’s best warranty, a 25-year residential warranty, backs these smooth hardwood laminate styles.

Can you put laminate flooring down without underlayment?

The underlayment may be pre-attached to the planks in some laminate flooring products. The use of underlayment is mandatory. We recommend purchasing rolls of underlayment if your laminate planks don’t already have it attached.

What type of flooring does not need underlayment?

When it comes to covering existing hardwood floors, vinyl flooring without a cushion, and concrete floors, you’ll want to use a drop cloth instead. It’s also possible that you don’t need a vapor barrier if your vinyl plank flooring already has an underlayment installed.
