How do you hang sconces over a fireplace?
Consider the width of the mantel when hanging sconces on either side of a fireplace. If you have a large fireplace, you should hang them over both ends of the mantel, not just one. If you’re using a smaller fireplace, keep the sconces at least eight inches away from the opening’s sides.
Where should sconces be placed next to fireplace?
It appears to be situated about 60″ from the hearth, above the fireplace, and slightly to the right of the hearth itself. The sconce will illuminate the beautiful arrangements on the adjacent shelves and mantel, just like in the previous image.

As one of the oldest fixtures, sconces are not obsolete. For my niece’s room, it was the best light source. My elderly niece decided to get rid of her nightlight last year because it was taking up too much space in her room.
