What would cause a gas fireplace not to ignite?
Your Igniter and Thermocouple should be inspected. The spark igniter and thermocouple may be malfunctioning if there is no blockage in the tubing and gas is flowing out. Make sure there isn’t any debris between the two pieces. A new igniter may be required if you can’t keep the pilot light lit after it’s ignited.
How do you fix a gas fireplace that won’t light?
Even if gas is leaking from the pilot, the spark igniter could be the source of the failure. You need to remove any obstructions between the thermocouple and the igniter. Using compressed air, waiting a few minutes, and then retrying may be all that is needed to fix the issue.
Why won’t my gas fireplace turn on when I flip the switch?
It’s possible that over time, the switch’s internal connections will become corroded, dirty, or broken, causing a loss of this voltage at the switch. In this case, the voltage that is sent back to the fireplace is insufficient to turn it on.
How do you reset the pilot light on a gas fireplace?
It takes about 20 seconds to heat up the thermocouple by holding the pilot button down. However, if the pilot light doesn’t stay on, you may need to press and hold the button again. To turn the light on, press the “On” switch, then remove the decorative cover and replace the fixed glass assembly. That’s all there is to it!
Can you manually light a gas fire?
Even if the igniter on your gas stove is damaged, you can use a match or lighter to manually light it. Compared to standard cigarette lighters, matches are both safer and more effective. Turn the gas down.
