How Do You Recognize A Distracted Driver?

Writer Ethan Hayes

How often have you noticed someone do other things apart from driving behind the wheel while driving along the Highway or on your way back from work? For example, most cities have a significant number of distracted drivers on the road at all hours of the day.

Unfortunately, the majority of the drivers believe that they can simply send a text message while driving down highways at 70 miles per hour. However, the few seconds it takes to send a text or check an incoming message is very much enough time for an accident to occur. Silky Terrier Dog Breed Playing Around

Avoiding irresponsible drivers is probably something you do regularly throughout your trip. The following guidelines can assist you in identifying a distracted driver before getting into an accident.

Drifting away from the center

Due to the presence of lane markers, it’s very simple to determine whether a vehicle nearby is swerving. If you observe a car drifting away from the middle of the lane, even if it does not violate the lines, consider the driver to be preoccupied.

Sudden braking

Sudden braking is another indicator of a distracted driver. For example, if traffic ahead is slowing down but the driver just ahead of you quickly slams on the brakes, that driver was not paying attention to the road ahead.

At crossroads, lingering.

Many drivers take advantage of the few minutes they are stopped at a signal to attend to an urgent issue unrelated to driving. This is often indicated by the driver’s inaction when the light turns green, and other vehicles begin to proceed.

If you see such conduct and are compelled to blast your horn To motivate the driver, bear in mind that the driver most likely did not complete whatever task was at hand, and the distraction may persist while the car goes down the road.

If you see a driver using headphones, this may also indicate distraction. Either the car’s radio is malfunctioning, and the driver is listening to music, or the headphones enable the driver to make phone calls or use voice-to-text messaging. In any case, proceed with caution and maintain your distance from this driver.
