How does the Sew Cool Maker work?

For the Sew Cool ($59.90 at Amazon UK), two pieces of felt are sewn together using needles. You can’t get more than two pieces of felt under a plastic guard, so the needles are safe for little fingers—but you can’t get more than two pieces of felt under the plastic guard.
