Dogs are different from cats and other animals and you don’t have to deceive them to provide them with this medication. All you need to do is to give your dog a chewable tablet once a month either in its meal or separately and let it chew the tablet. The best way is to put it inside the food which the dogs enjoy a lot. Heartgard must be used at that time of the year when mosquitos are more active than usual. The first dose should be provided within the first month of the dog’s exposure to mosquitos or bugs.

If given with food, dogs will take no longer than a few hours to digest Heartgard.
