Drysuit mortar or dry bond mortar is an adhesive mortar that is made of cement, fine sand, and a water-retaining agent such as an alkyl derivative of cellulose. There are two types of thinset available in most cases: unmodified and modified (polymer-modified). Tiles and counter-tops are the most common applications for this material. Thinset mortar cures in 24-48 hours, depending on the temperature. It is important to note that the cure strength requirements for each type of tile are different, so be sure to select the appropriate mortar mix for your tile selection. Hence, it takes up to 24-48 hours for the thin-set to dry.
