Going back to our beloved Hingeback tortoises, it can take from 7-8 years for a baby to grow into the adult size. In this case, things are quite clear as there’s no confusion regarding what it means by “adult”. It does not mean that they have reached their full growth, but they reach an age where they can reproduce and participate in reproduction (if male) or care for the eggs and hatchlings (if female) after around 20 years.
