How long does it take for window tint to cure?
Caleb Butler
The time it takes for a window tint to cure will be affected by a couple of things. It might also vary depending on whether you use the activator or not. In the package, you have a component that is called an activator. This acts as a catalyst that speeds up the curing process. However, if this is consumed too fast compared to the other components in the kit, it can cause streaking and/or hazing on your newly applied window tint film.

You can use tools like a squeegee or you can just wait till your window tint is dry enough that you can remove the liner. After removing the liner, leave the tint overnight so that it can further cure and harden up. It’s always important to leave the window tint to cure on its own. Don’t try to look or touch the window tint after it has been applied. If you accidentally do, just use some isopropyl alcohol on a clean cloth and wipe it off before it dries up.
Here’s an important tip: It’s best to apply your window tint film at night time so that proper curing will take place overnight. This can be done by rolling down your car windows so that heat won’t build up inside. If you are not sure, leave the tint overnight to wait for it to cure completely before applying another layer of tint or trying to buff it out.
For fast curing window tint, you may want to consider using an activator with it. This speeds up the curing process and can cut down your waiting time to as little as about 30 minutes. However, the activator may also cause streaking or hazing that can be difficult to buff out properly.
