How Long Does It Take To Get Prescription Glasses?
Ethan Hayes
People are usually curious about how long it takes to get prescription glasses. If this is your first time getting glasses and getting your eyes tested, then you’re not going to know the answer to this question. I wear glasses, and I get my eyes tested each year. Not only do I wear glasses, I always wear contacts. I have to get a prescription for both of them.
How Long To Wait For Prescription Glasses
There are times when my prescription expires and I have to get my eyes tested all over again. Based on my own personal experience, it will take 7 to 14 days on average to get your prescription glasses. It could also take longer as well. It all depends on the store and the kind of glasses that you’re getting.
Some glasses will take longer to make than others; this is all due to the fact that we don’t all have the same vision. Your eyesight can determine the kind of lenses that you need and the frame that goes with it as well. So, this is usually on a case by case basis.
If you require special glasses, then it could take a long time for you to get your prescription glasses. It took me about 2 weeks to get my prescription glasses from Walmart. So, depending on where you’re getting them from it could be about the same. Realistically, you should expect to get your prescription glasses within 2-3 weeks.
When my prescription glasses were ready, someone from Walmart called me and let me know that they were ready. I then went and picked them up. The same thing can be done with contacts as well.
Final Thoughts
Getting glasses for the first time can be very exciting. You most likely don’t want to wait to get them because you want them right now. However, you’ll just have to wait for your prescription glasses to be ready even though waiting sucks. You should get your glasses within 2-3 weeks.
