How Long Does it take to read 10 Pages?
John Campbell
A document containing 10 pages may either be an essay, a thesis, a simple blog post, a journal article, or a summary of your most favorite book. It’s up to you now to decide how long it will take to read those 10 pages. If it’s your favorite book, you’ll read it in a friendly way while sitting comfortably and it won’t take you so long to read. The reason is that our readability increases when we’re trying to read something funny or at least of our interest. A general perception is that you can read 250-300 words of a document in one minute if you’re reading it for fun.

So, it’ll take you more than double of the time as compared to your favorite book. For example, if you’re going through a scientific research document and you are trying to gain some knowledge also, you’ll highlight the important things which will take a lot of time. For the same reason, a study has found that the reading speed decreases to a large extent while reading such a document and becomes 125-140 words per minute for an adult.
So, if you’re reading a document of 10 pages, each page consists of 500 words and you are reading it at 300 words per minute, it will take you almost 17 minutes to read the entire document. However, if you speed yourself up and start reading at 450 words per minute, you’ll be able to read the same document in 11-12 minutes.
