A watch that is too tight can certainly be inconvenient in more ways than one. The watch should be loose enough to allow you to slide your index finger underneath the band but not so loose that you can move it around. The watch is too tight if you can’t slide your finger underneath the band.

How tight should your watch be worn?

When you move your arm, the golden rule is that your watch should not move more than an inch up or down your wrist. This is especially true for bracelet-style and oversized watches, which will appear exaggeratedly large if they do not fit properly around your wrist.

Is it normal for a watch to be loose?

When wearing a watch, it should never be loose or sliding around. Rubber straps are possibly the most comfortable. Rubber serves as a liner in some high-end animal skin straps because it is flexible and water resistant.
