How To Behave In Church Sermon

Writer Andrew Davis

Listen

Listening and hearing are not the same thing at all. When people are in church they think that they are hearing, however, they are usually only listening. I’m also saying this from experience. You could be in church hearing a Pastor give his sermon and you are listening to what he is saying, however, you’re not paying attention or really hearing it as a pertains to understanding and taking in the words. It just means that you are there but you’re not really there at the same time. You are distracted and your mind is really somewhere else even though you are listening.

Take Notes

As it pertains to how you should behave during a church sermon, you should definitely take some notes. You don’t have to take notes, however,  it is recommended that you do because it will be beneficial for your growth and development in the church as well as your relationship with God. You can write down anything that you think the pastor is saying that is interesting or resonates with you. You can then look over it later on, which will help you better understand the word.

No Distractions

When you are in church and the sermon is being delivered by the pastor, you should do your best to not be distracted by anyone or anything. And by being distracted, I mean your smartphone. It’s common for people to spend the majority of their time on their phones in church. This happens all the time to the point where people aren’t even paying attention to anything that’s going on in the service. You don’t want to be that person. You can respond to texts or search for things when you get home. When you are in church you should avoid all distractions.
