How To Change A Genie Garage Door Opener Battery
Rachel Davis
Most typical wireless garage door opener remotes, like Genie’s basic three- and one-button models, use a single CR2032 lithium coin-cell battery. Replace the remote’s battery by placing a coin in the top slot and removing the battery compartment cover with the coin. This will let you access the battery. It’s as simple as taking out the previous battery and installing a newer one. The positive side of a battery is often denoted by a + symbol.
Alkaline Models:
In order to offer visual and audible evidence that your garage door has closed properly, the Genie Network Adapter is used in conjunction with the Closed Confirmed remotes. Inside the rear cover, take out the previous batteries and place the new batteries with the remote control’s “+” and “-” polarity indicators.
Genie wireless keypads also need batteries. It’s possible to get models that use 9-volt batteries or AA batteries. The type of battery you need is visible when you remove the battery compartment cover and slide the battery compartment up and out of the device’s bottom.
A23 Changes:
The 3 buttons remote control of Genie’s IntelliCode products are powered by an A23 alkaline battery, which is widely used in alarms, keyless entrance, and security systems. They’re readily available at hardware shops, and switching them out is as simple as replacing AA batteries. Make sure that the polarity markings on the new battery are aligned appropriately before replacing the old one.
