How To Change Batteries In A Toucan Can Opener
Emily Cortez
If you despise the mess and sharp edges that come with manual can openers, the One Touch can opener will become your greatest friend in the kitchen. Even though it is battery-operated, the batteries, which can be either AA alkaline or rechargeable, are simple to swap out when necessary. It is especially beneficial for the elderly or anyone who has weak hands to use this type of can opener. Changing the batteries and releasing a stuck opener, which can occur if the battery level is extremely low, are both simple procedures to perform.
1. Lift the battery area covering the underside of the can opener open, and discard the previous batteries from the battery compartment.
2. 2 AA alkaline or rechargeable batteries should be placed in the battery compartment. Place them in the direction of the polarity (+/-) marks.
3. Place the cover over the battery area. Before replacing the battery compartment cover, make certain if the motor has been brought to a complete rest. To avoid turning on the can opener when replacing it, never press the button on its back or on its top to prevent it from turning on while replacing it. Reinstall the batteries at the same moment whenever possible. Never put new and old batteries, or batteries of numerous types, in a single battery charger. Always dispose of old batteries in the correct way. Battery disposal is safe for alkaline batteries, which can be disposed of with regular household waste; however, rechargeable batteries should be recycled. If at all possible, recycle used batteries at a local recycling center or drop-off facility rather than throwing them out.
