How To Change Battery In 2015 Toyota Highlander Key Fob
Caleb Butler
A flat screwdriver is all you require to remove the old key fob battery.
1. Take off your key fob and other keys from your key ring.
Look for a notch in the bottom left corner of the key fob’s plastic keyring loop. Pry the back cover off with a flathead screwdriver inserted into the notch.
2. Instead of a screwdriver, use a plastic pry bar to avoid harming the plastic. Away from the fob’s back cover Disconnect the front of the key fob from the remote control.
3. Don’t turn the fob over to avoid losing the little button pieces. Locate the little plastic tabs and slots along the remote control’s borders to help you assemble it. Using the blade of a small flathead screwdriver, gently pull back the corners of the rear cover to reveal the slots.
4. Remove the tabs one by one, going around the perimeter. Dismantle the remote control by separating the two casing sides. Remove the green circuit board from the enclosure to disassemble the remote. Flip the green circuit board over to access the battery holder.
5. Gently squeeze the old battery out of the socket. The “+” side should face you, while the “-” side should face the green circuit board. Don’t bend any of the wires. Carefully lower the green circuit board into the remote control’s front half. Then align the remote’s rear cover.
6. Align the two sections of the remote control housing. Before continuing, make sure all holding clips along the edges are securely in place. The remote control shell should fit into the metal ignition key fob’s front section.
7. Attach the rear cover. Gently snap the two fob sections together. Both halves should be parallel on all four edges. To test the new battery, push the “Unlock” and “Lock” buttons on the key fob while near your SUV. If the battery replacement is functioning right, the parking lights and door locks must work.
