The first step in understanding how to change the battery in the Cadillac key fob would be knowing what to do in order to open the fob!

It’s typically located in the back, which is located on the Cadillac keys if you have one. It must be pressed for urgent key release.

Get the emergency key out of your wallet and store it in a safe place.

Find the tiny hole in the back of the key, and get it removed (it should be about the same as the size of the tip of an emergency key). To gain access to the battery, place a key (or the flat screwdriver) in the slot and press gently to break off the two components that make up keys. Separate them.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR REPLACING THE KEY FOB BATTERY FOR MODEL YEARS 2014 AND UP:

The procedure for replacing the key fob in the case of the Cadillac automobile from the year that followed differs from the procedure described previously. The launch in the year 2020 of the Cadillac CT5 sedan marked the introduction of a new key fob design across every model in the Cadillac range. Key fobs which were introduced after 2014 have the same internals. As consequently, require the same procedure for replacing the battery, which is described in the following paragraphs.

The key fob is opened by following the same process described above, and could also be applied to older models.

Once the key fob has been removed, look at the circuit board on one side of the shell. The battery is on the other side.

The battery is situated to the left.

Place it away until you’re able to get rid of it legally way.

Replace the battery that you’ve used with a brand new CR2032 battery that has each side facing downwards and the reverse side faces towards upwards.

Unlock the fob key and after that, place the pieces to one another.

The emergency key needs to be returned to its original location on the key for the ignition.
