How to change halogen heater bulbs

Writer Caleb Butler

Examine the lamps for any cracks or dark areas. If halogen bulbs are damaged or burned out, they should be replaced. Some halogen flashlight parts aren’t always available locally, but they can be obtained online. Turn on the device after opening the device lid and clicking on the replacement bulbs.

When exposed to wear and tear, halogen heater bulbs are likely to shatter or blow. If this happens, it’s time to change your halogen heater bulbs safely, but you must do it with caution. The nicest part about replacing halogen heater bulbs is that they are really inexpensive, costing about $7-$10. Halogen heaters don’t require frequent bulb replacements because a new bulb can work for up to 2,500-3000 hours.

The steps for changing halogen bulbs are as follows:

    • For this procedure, we’ll need several essential tools:
    • Screwdriver
      1. Hand protection gloves

After you’ve prepared to change halogen heater bulbs, the first step is to turn off the heater, unplug it from the socket, and allow it to cool.

1. After you’ve followed all of the safety precautions loosen all of the screws from each side of the panel with a screwdriver. Halogen heaters typically have six screws, however, depending on the type of your halogen heater, you may need to remove more or less.

2. When unscrewing or unclipping, be gentle and place your hand below to prevent screws or the dangling bulb from dropping to the ground.

3. Next, expose the heater and, if your heater has one, gently remove the black grill. The bulb is hooked to the socket behind the grill.

4. Now it’s time to gently press the bulb into the socket and then spin it in the other way, counterclockwise. While unscrewing the pins that hold the bulb in the socket, keep a firm grasp on the bulb.

5. If the bulb appears to be loose, carefully remove it from the heater and replace it with a new bulb in the same location.

6. To adjust the replacement bulb in the socket, gently press it into the socket and turn it clockwise. This step should be done with utmost caution because the bulb is highly likely to fall. To avoid this, always arrange your palm underneath the bulb so that it falls into your hand.
