The first step in this task is to remove the cover for the engine. Remove the three clips made of plastic that hold it in position. I am lighting things up in that pretty pink

That’s what the valve cover appears like. It is secured by seven 7mm hex head bolts.

For access to the bolts, you could require a mix of wrenches and sockets. I managed to reach almost all of them using an extremely deep socket of 7mm as well as my 1 1/4″ Ratchet.

In the narrower regions, I used a small 7mm socket. There was nothing special.

If you’re having difficulty accessing the bolts in the back located on your passenger’s side take off the two bolts with lights to allow you to move the wire harness from the way. This is required if you plan to replace the spark plugs, for which you’ll require a bit more clearance.

Take off the two nuts highlighted on the right. This will let you move the EVP just a bit to get it away from the way. Please excuse the additional holes in my car. I was working on installing a ball joint for the driver’s side therefore, additional parts were removed.

My opinion is that the driver’s backside lower bolt is actually the only PITA bolt to reach. I used a 7mm wrench to do this. I utilized one of the ends to loosen it by placing it over to the rear of my vehicle and placing the wrench towards the rear of the car. Then, I switched to the open of the bolt and managed to access it from the rear of the car, and then half-a$$ing the wrench to the bolt to speed it up. Once you’ve broken it free it shouldn’t be too difficult to get it off.

The most difficult part is done. The cover will look like. Make sure to place it correctly so that the beveled portion is located in the back.

You can now see the four coils that are there. If you have a car that is old, don’t be amazed to see various numbers of coils there. Black labels are the latest ones.

It is simpler to take off the electrical connector prior to taking off the coil. Push the back clip, then pull the connector back straight. If you attempt to pull it up, you could break or break the connector.

With the deep-well socket and my 1/4 ratchet, it’s an easy task. If you’ve got the bolt unfastened and the coil is supposed to remain in place, however, it most likely won’t. If it is able to fall off then you must change the bolt. The boot should be snug to the spark plug. Make sure you apply some tune-up grease on the back of the boot prior to reinstalling.
