The Prairie 360 is a mid-size SUT that needs regular maintenance. The manufacturer provides detailed maintenance and component information in the quad’s handbook. Begin by bringing the engine up to operating temperature. Pull the drain plug from the motor and place your ATV. The drain plug is in the OEM skid plate. Remove the plug to drain the oil. When you remove the plug from the case, the oil will be hot. Allow all of the oil to drain. Remove the black plastic cover on the engine’s left side. It’s the oil fill cap. Lid off after removing the five Phillips head screws. The oil filter spins. Clean the filter to prevent dirt out of the crankcase. If oil drops down the skid plate, I prefer to catch it with a towel. Screwdrivers should never be used to remove the filter. You can get a filter wrench at any parts store. Then look at the drain stopper washer. Replace it if it’s cracked. This is especially useful if you want to change your own oil. Replug it. Not too tight. The plug merely needs to be snugged. Wipe the motor’s flat, smooth oil filter surface. Look for metal chips or odd stuff.

This may indicate a motor part failure. Lubricate the filter’s O ring with your finger. This keeps the O ring from binding on the case. Give the filter a 1/4 turn further to seat it. Replacing the plastic cover and anti-seizing the screws will prevent future issues. Add oil to the dip stick’s upper and lower marks. Restart the engine briefly to let the oil settle. Replace the oil and filter after 90 days or 1609 km. Check and adjust the spark plugs. Also, check and replace brake fluid monthly. Maintenance and adjustment are covered in the Prairie 360 owner’s manual. Oils and fuels for the Prairie 360 It runs on unleaded. Kawasaki suggests 87 octanes or above. Exclude Mobil 424 or Exxon Hydraulic 560 gear case oil. It also utilizes DOT-4 brake fluid. The Prairie 360 has a 0.031-0.035 inch spacing.
