Box cutters, X-ACTO knives, and utility knives are all useful equipment that virtually every household has. However, as the blades are razor-sharp the tools can be extremely risky. If the blade becomes dull and you need to apply more pressure to cut something which can put you at a greater chance of suffering getting injured. When you realize the blade becoming dull then replace it with the new one, and then dispose of that old blade in a manner that prevents cutting edges safe from damaging someone. Many people dump knives into containers made of plastic, such as a bowl, trash can, or any other garbage bin, and forget about the knives. This is extremely risky since the person who is in the bin could accidentally be cut while emptying the garbage.

Even when they are not used often and exposed to air, they could be corroded or rust.
