How To Fix A Noisy Bathroom Fan?

Writer David Wilson

Why is my bathroom fan so noisy?

Your fan’s motor may be dirty if it’s been quiet and started making a lot of noise recently. Use a can of compressed air to clean out the fan if it’s clogged with dust, dirt, and other debris. After that, use a hand vacuum to remove any remaining debris. That’s not too difficult.

Can you use wd40 on a bathroom fan?

To help break up any remaining dirt, dust, or grease, WD-40 is an excellent lubricant for exhaust fans; however, silicone spray or another alternative can also be used to lubricate an exhaust fan. Clean any lubricant that drips down the motor by spinning the fan blades with your hand.

Can you lubricate a bathroom fan?

Remove the fan cover and vacuum out any dust or dirt that has gotten stuck in the fan while it is off and the fan is not running. Silicone spray can be used to lubricate the fan. The fan’s cover must be reattached. A new unit should be purchased and installed if problems persist.
