How to get abs without losing weight

Writer Emily Cortez

There are countless ways of gaining abs without losing weight. However, most people wouldn’t worry so much about the abs than losing weight. If both of them are on your priority list, you can imagine how much effort and time a person would have to spend. But if you want well-defined abs, not losing weight is one way of getting it.

Ab exercises need low weights to perform which means that you don’t have to lose weight before performing the exercise. In addition to that, no matter how heavy you are, you can have a flat stomach by performing low-weight exercises.

To achieve the goal of getting abs without losing weight is simple. Follow these steps below:

  • Cut down on junk food in your meal plan. Junk food would only add fats into your body and cause negative results instead of positive ones which are what we want when trying to get lean muscles with well-defined abs.
  • Eat more! Yes, you heard me right. By controlling the amount of calorie intake every day, you would be able to develop muscle mass which will lead to strength gain and muscle definition in no time! Plus, if burned up properly with exercises, the calories supply will provide stamina which is important if you want to do intensive workouts.
  • Add more protein to your diet. A lot of people believe that protein will build fat so they would avoid it but the truth is, protein will help with muscle growth and strengthening which will give you a six-pack quicker than any other method. If you consume enough calories from junk food every day but have no source of protein, your body would have lesser energy to burn due to lack of protein supply and therefore less fat burning capacity.

On the contrary, if you had a sufficient amount of protein in a day, along with a good amount of calorie intake from healthy food choices, your body’s ability to burn unwanted fats would be increased drastically.
