How To Get Rid Of Squirrels In My Garage?

Writer David Wilson

Squirrels are necessary for tree proliferation, therefore even if they are pests in your garage, it is considerate to try to remove them in a gentle manner. Mother squirrels, on the other hand, should be avoided since they can become hostile and protective of their young.

1st step

To persuade the squirrels to exit the garage out of their own, leave sweaty garments, make noise, or keep the lighting on. Another idea is to make an owl replica and use it as a strawman.

2nd Step

Crushed newspaper is used to fill holes, and flour is distributed near the squirrels’ nesting place. You’ll know it’s time to deploy a cage trap if you detect tracks or observe the paper has indeed been pushed out of the entrance in the next few days.

3rd step

Place two to three squirrel cage traps in your garage near the nesting spot and bait them. Release the squirrel back into the wild once they’ve successfully captured

4th step

To avoid more squirrels or other small animals from invading, make the necessary repairs to your garage as soon as possible. Inspect the garage for loose shingles or holes, and trim any trees that hang over the house.

5th step

If you believe that they are orphaned young squirrels in your garage and that the squirrels are sick, call your nearest wildlife center or wildlife services to ensure that the matter is correctly handled.
