How to install a gas fireplace remote control

Writer Ethan Hayes

Modern gas fireplaces are generally operated by remote control, making it as simple as hitting the ‘on’ button on your remote to turn on your gas fireplace. There will usually be an ignition button on the control panel of the fireplace if there isn’t a remote.

After your gas log set has been fitted and a millivolt valve has been placed, you may add a remote to it. You could even be able to turn your gas log set into a remote-controlled system with variable flame and thermostatic settings. After installing a remote controller to the fireplace it gets easier to change and set functions of the fireplace easily and it is no longer required to use it manually.

With a gas fireplace remote control, you can quickly ignite your gas fireplace with only a few clicks of a button. The setup of your remote is quite simple.

The following materials are required:

• Transmitter for controlling the fireplace

• As well as batteries

Connect the Gas Valve to the Receiver

Connect your receiver to the gas valve, which will receive signals from the remote control. When you open the fireplace vent, look for a connecting location where you may plug the receiver into the valve.

Connect the Receiver to the Power Source

After you’ve attached the receiver to the valve, you’ll need to power it up. To obtain electricity to the receiver, plug it into the nearest available open socket.

If you don’t have access to a nearby outlet

If you don’t have access to a power outlet, consider utilizing a fireplace thermostat. It generally just takes a few of batteries, and you won’t need to use an outlet.

Try the remote control out.

Put on the cells into the remote control linked with the fireplace. To verify that the fireplace works correctly, test all of the remote’s capabilities.
