Installing front license plate on Lexus nx200t you have to follow steps bellow:
1. Get a drill with size 3/8
2. Use auto body painters tape (blue) as masking tape
3. Use 5/32″ drill bit for pilot holes
4. Make sure drill is not too bigger than 3/8″ or it will make bigger hole when attaching license plate
5. Drill into metal frame using 3/8″ power bit
6. Place license plate on top of drilled hole and then use bolt to hold it in place
7. Tighten the nut with your hand, and do not forget to use wrench to make sure it is tight enough.
8. Drill two more pilot holes on other side of frame and then install front license plate.
10 minute to complete the job.
Front license plate is must have in some state right? For Lexus nx200t, it is required too :). Nevertheless, where should i install? On front bumper, hood? well…in my opinion, it’s better to install on metal part of frame which you can find when you open front door (near side view mirror), because if your put it on other place that might block air flow or cause an accident when another car swipes your front bumper. Actually, after research about this topic; all Lexus models has a flat surface near side view mirror where you can attach your front license plate ;). So do not worry! we used 5/32″ drill bit for pilot holes, and make sure before start drilling, put your finger near of pilot hole (that’s why we do this step first because if the metal frame is too thick ask yourself how deep your drill must be drilled).
If your finger can touch any part of pilot holes; don’t try to drill deeper because it will be buried into metal frame when attach license plate later.
