  • Mark the vertical center of the wall.
  • Mark a horizontal line along the entire wall with a tile placed against the wall.
  • Apply the mortar to the wall and tile by mixing it.
  • Start with the bottom tiles and work your way up.

Floor Tiles:

  • Mark the center of the wall and floor, and connect the opposite walls using chalk lines.
  • As per your layout plan, arrange the tiles on a level surface near the bathroom.
  • To fit the corners, mark and cut tiles.
  • Mix thin-set mortar.
  • Start at the corner facing the door and spread some mortar on the floor.
  • Apply mortar to the underside of the tile and then press down.
  • Place the corner and cut tiles.
  • Allow thin-set to dry, and then remove any spacers.

You can fill the spaces between tiles with grout. Let the grout cure completely. To protect the surface, use a high-quality tile sealant.

You don’t have to do much extra work to maintain and care for tiles that are sealed properly.

Travertine, a naturally hard stone material, is one example. It is very similar in composition and features to limestone and marble. It is durable and a popular choice for the bathroom remodeling. It can also be used as flooring, countertops, or walls.

The use of travertine tiles in bathrooms is a controversial issue. This is because travertine tiles are a porous natural stone. It is therefore not practical for areas with water.

Experts agree that hone-finished travertine tiles are the best for bathrooms. Or tumble-finished. A matte finish on hone-finished travertine softens its appearance. These finishes are great for bathrooms as they can withstand the most common spillages from makeup and other beauty products.
