How To Keep Headphones On While Sleeping

It is normal for most people to sleep with their headphones in their ears. However, it is also common for headphones to keep falling out of your ears while you’re sleeping. I happen to know this from personal experience. I tend to use the Apple AirPod headphones when I’m sleeping. So, if you use some kind of air buds, then you know what it’s like to have them constantly fall out of your ears.

Keep Your Headphones On While Sleeping

How you will determine if your headphones actually stay on when you’re sleeping. If you happen to sleep on your back, then it’s highly unlikely that your headphones are going to come out of your ears. When you’re on your back, your ears are not touching the bed or anything else, so your headphones should stay in place.

I don’t sleep on my back so my headphones definitely fall out of my ears all the time. This will happen when I’m moving around or tossing and turning. Somehow, they just end up coming out of my ears.

The solution that I found to this problem is to sleep with only one earbud in my ears or just sleep on a particular side, which is usually my right side. So, I sleep in a position where my ear is touching the pillow and bed. In doing this, the headphone is going to stay on and is unlikely to come out.

If you don’t like sleeping on your back, then you can give this a try. It might just work for you. Let’s face it, there’s not much that you can do to keep your headphones on. After all, you’re not going to glue or tape them to your head, which would be kind of crazy. So, you just have to do what you can to keep them on.

Headphone Size

The type of headphones that you use can also affect whether or not they stay on when you’re using them. If you’re using smaller headphones, they might come out easily when you’re sleeping. Also, the size of your ears also have to be taken into consideration. We all don’t have the same ears. Some people have bigger ears than others, which can affect how your headphones fit and also stay on your ears. So, there are numerous factors that have to be taken into consideration.

Final Thoughts

If you want to keep your headphones on when you’re sleeping, you should either sleep on your back or on a side that would allow you to rest on the headphones as they are in your ear. This is pretty much all that you can do. It’s common for headphones to not stay on when people are sleeping, due to constant moving and turning. So, keep this in mind as well.
