How to paint BMW grill?

Writer Emily Cortez

No one wants a lackluster BMW grill. It’s the first thing people see and it can really make or break the look of your car. Luckily, painting your BMW grill is an easy process that you can do at home with a few simple tools.
To start off, you’ll need to gather some supplies. In addition to a grill brush and some soap, you’ll need a can of spray paint specifically formulated for plastic. Make sure to choose a color that will complement the rest of your car.
Once you have all of your supplies, it’s time to get started. First, use the grill brush to scrub the grill until it’s free of any dirt or debris. Once it’s clean, take your grill and remove the emblem. Carefully pull on the emblem until it pops off of the grill.

Next, use some soap and water to wash your new grill thoroughly. You want to make sure that there is no dirt or any other type of residue left anywhere on the surface. This will ensure that the paint will adhere properly.
Once it’s clean, dry it off with a towel. Then, take your can of spray paint and shake it well. Holding the grill at a 45-degree angle, start spraying the paint in quick, even strokes. Make sure to avoid over-spraying, as this can cause the paint to drip or run.

Once you’ve coated the grill in paint, wait about two minutes before you start spraying again. Repeat this process until the grill is completely covered. Once it’s dry, simply reattach the emblem.
With these simple steps, you’ll be able to give your BMW a great new look. Not only does painting your grill give it a custom touch, but it also protects the surface from rust and corrosion.

How long does the paint last?

This will depend on how you drive your car and the weather. The paint is meant to be an outer protective coating since it’s formulated for plastic. With that said, if you live in a climate where there is salt on the roads during the winter, the paint may start to flake off over time.
