1. Enter the car with the doors closed, make sure it is on Park
2. As you are facing the driver seat area, turn your steering wheel all of the way to the right, then pull it back towards yourself as far as possible
3. With one hand on top of the other, reach down below your steering wheel and find a small hole that has a triangular shape
4. Stick your finger in this hole and push forward while turning it counter clockwise till you hear a click sound
5. Put on any gear except reverse or drive
6. While some gears are still available for selection even when it is in neutral, do not attempt to put it into them until you have fully taken out your key from ignition switch
7. To take out key, push the start stop button once while keeping it pressed down
8. Don’t release start/stop button until you have completely removed your key from ignition switch
9. You can now select any gear except reverse or drive without having to worry about your car rolling away
10. This method works on almost all cars including benz, bmw, audi, land rover etc however; it might not work on Rolls Royce and some other luxury cars where there’s no space to put fingers in behind steering wheel
11. While still being able to select gears when in neutral position, try putting into reverse just to make sure there’s no problem with it
12. Once you are certain that your car is in neutral while still being able to select gears, quickly push start/stop button again and release it once more while keeping your foot on brake pedal
13. With your foot on the brake pedal, push down on the gear lever to put into Park position, then let up slowly while applying light pressure to bring back up into Drive or Reverse depending on where you were originally before this process
14. If done properly without any problems during step 12; your car should now be in drive with all dashboard warning lights off (including handbrake indicator if applicable)
15. Don’t forget to remove finger from behind steering wheel hole and return back the steering wheel to its original position
16. Turn off engine by pressing the start/stop button for a second time and release it once more
