A simple wash cycle will usually remove most semen stains from bedding and clothing. Semen traces can be wiped with a moist cloth and mild soap if things get really rougher on the couch and carpet. Use cold water to avoid making the sperm stickier.

One of the finest techniques to erase semen stains is to use cold water instead of warm or hot water. You might be tempted to use some hot water to mimic a washing machine clean, but hot water on small areas could actually work to set organic stains, so the cold way is the best way to go, especially if the stain is already dry.

You can soak your linens in cold water to remove any new stains, and you should do so as soon as possible after the stain appears. If the stain has already dried, brush off any movable components and spritz them with an enzyme-based pre-washing spray before putting them in the washing machine.

Check what kind of fabric you’re working with if you have any nasty stains on your apparel. It will be a lot easier to treat if it is on a washable fabric because you won’t have to be as gentle. Start with a simple cold water and towel solution, and if that doesn’t work, try the bedsheet option! If the material is silk or wool, you must exercise greater caution. Instead of scratching, use gentle blotting to protect this type of fabric.
