How To Remove Stains From Paper

Writer Robert King

If you find marks or stains on your documents at home, don’t get worried. It could be because the documents appear old, and they have been soaked in liquids and air over the course of time. If the staining is due to years of exposure to air or spills of liquid, You can attempt to get them out. There is no need to send the documents to professionals unless they’re important and require preservation.

First technique

Place the paper flat on its back with as much of a flat surface as possible on a flat surface.

To remove staining, you must not have as many wrinkles or lines in the paper as you can.

Dust a light dusting of palpable chalk or clay over the stain using a soft paintbrush. Both components remove the moisture from the paper, reducing the stain. Make sure to apply the powdered material on the areas stained, and apply enough to completely cover the stain.

Place the paper that is stained between two sheets of clean white paper.

These sheets can serve as pockets for the stained paper, so it won’t burn when you use heat to lift the stain.

The flat iron should be placed over the top layer of paper for 5-10 seconds. Then, remove the flat iron prior to the paper getting scorched.

Remove the stained piece of paper from the interior of the pocket, and the stain must be extremely lightened or totally eliminated.

Second technique

Place the paper on the flat, smooth surface. Smooth out any edges and wrinkles. This method will only work if your paper can be as smooth and wrinkle-free as possible.

Tape the paper with ordinary tape to hold it in the right place.

The spray bottle should be filled up with water and then lightly mist the stained area of the paper. Don’t allow the stain to soak. Making it as damp as possible to allow the water to be removed via suction is your aim.

Switch on the vacuum and then place the nozzle of the hose right above the stain but without getting in contact with the surface. You are able to alter the power of the vacuum in the event that it is equipped with variable settings.

Check the stain and moisture fall off the paper.
