How to Replace a Tail Light

1. Step 1: Open trunk or tailgate.
2. Step 2: Open the fender well. You can do this by prying the sides of the cover away from the car with a flat-head screwdriver and pulling out on it.
3. Step 3: Remove light assembly by disconnecting bulb, unplugging wire harnesses, and gently squeezing black clip on the backside of assembly and turn counter-clockwise 90-degrees.
4. Step 4: Gently squeeze the white locking tab on the backside of the assembly and turn clockwise 90 degrees to remove the old light assembly.
5. Step 5: Attach new light assembly by aligning it with rear quarter panel holes and turning counter-clockwise 90 degrees until it locks into place. Make sure the locking tab is in a horizontal position and the white locking clip is turned clockwise at 90 degrees to lock the unit into place.
6. Step 6: Attach bulb and wire harness by pressing firmly on plastic locking clips, reconnecting wire harnesses, and inserting tabs on light cover over screw stems. Insert the metal connector at the back of the assembly if needed. Moreover, tighten screws.
7. Step 7: Close the fender well. Pry the sides of the cover away from the car with a flat-head screwdriver and snap it back into place.
