How to reset Lexus gs350 maintenance light?
John Campbell
If you have a Lexus GS350, and the maintenance light comes on, don’t panic. It’s easy to reset the light, and it won’t take long. Here’s how to do it:
1. Open the hood of your car.
2. Locate the 12V battery. It will be in the front right corner of the engine.
3. Take off the positive battery terminal bolt with a wrench. You don’t have to remove the negative terminal, just loosen it slightly. Be sure your wrench is not touching any metal when you do this. The wrench will spark if it touches metal, so move it between the bolt and the terminal when you loosen it.
4. Wait for a few minutes, then put the bolt back on and tighten it.
5. Close the hood of your car.
6. Start your car.
7. The maintenance light will go off in a few seconds.
Why do you need to reset the maintenance light?
The maintenance light comes on when it’s time for your car to have its oil changed, or when there are other service needs. Resetting the light just means that you’re not ready to address those service needs yet. It doesn’t mean that there’s anything wrong with your car.
When should you reset the maintenance light?
You should reset the maintenance light when you get new tires on your car. It’s also a good idea if you’ve had an accident or some other kind of damage to your car, even if there are no visible signs, like scratches on the paint or any broken parts under the hood. You should also reset it if you’re having someone else work on your car, like at a mechanic’s shop.
Resetting the maintenance light is just a way of delaying service needs for a little while. It doesn’t mean that there’s anything wrong with your car, and it doesn’t mean that you can’t drive it. The light will come back on eventually, but it might be a good idea to take your car in for service when it does.
