Carrier-based devices are not very developer friendly because it is extremely difficult to make any changes to the device’s operating system, and unlocking the bootloader is also extremely tough.

1: Boot your S6 device into the bootloader or Odin mode by pressing the power button. Simply switch your phone off entirely and press the volume down, home, and power buttons all at once for a few seconds to complete the process.

2. Download and install the Odin program on your PC and connect your Galaxy device to your computer via the USB cable. Check to see that you are on Marshmallow. If not, at the very least, ensure that you have the Android M bootloader.

3. To flash the Arter Recovery, go to Odin > AP > Flash Arter Recovery with the auto reboot option disabled.

4: Once the installation is complete, reboot into the TWRP recovery environment. Keep holding the Power button to power off the device, and then keep holding the Power, Home, and Volume Up buttons simultaneously for a few seconds to enter recovery mode.

5: Once you’ve gotten into the TWRP recovery, make a backup of everything. Now, select Install and flash the SuperSU zip file that has been downloaded.

6. Following the successful flashing of all required files, reboot your machine and install the SuperSU apk to gain root access. It is advised that you install the SuperSU application from the Play Store.
