1. You don’t have a screwdriver

2. You want to tighten glasses by yourself or one of your hands is busy with something, but you need your glasses secure and not falling off your face (eg driving).

3. One of the screws on your glasses come loose and you can’t find a screwdriver

4. You are in the woods, on the beach, or in someplace without proper tools to tighten glasses

5. Your screwdriver is broken and you have no replacement at the moment

How to Tighten Glasses With No Screwdriver

If your glasses are strong enough then they can be tightened by pushing them in. As you put pressure on the frame, the screw will tighten itself.

It is best to use glasses with sturdy frames that are tight enough for glasses not to fall down your face or off your ears while you are active or when you are sleeping. If they already slip off when you bend forward, 99% chance they can be tightened with this method.

For example, I once wore a pair of square metal-framed glasses in high school and my mom would often come to me complaining about how it was loose and if she could tighten it for me, however at the time I was not sure what she meant because wearing square metal-framed glasses had become an everyday thing for me. But one day in middle school someone in my class was wearing the same pair of glasses with the left arm being loose, so I asked her if she could tighten it for me. She said, “Yes sure.”

That night when everyone finished dinner and went to their rooms, I sat on the bed alone in my room thinking about how someone else had tightened my glasses with ease. I decided to try it myself by putting my glasses on without tightening the sides and then holding them tightly till they were secure. It worked!
