Dove products are known for their mildness and moisturizing effects. Some of their products, especially the soap contain tallow or animal fats and this might be harmful to dogs as they harbor pathogens that can cause infections in cuts and wounds. Also, if your dog swallows it accidentally, it could lead to diarrhea or stomach problems.

Some people are allergic to dove soap or its ingredients and in such cases, it could lead to contact dermatitis (irritation of the skin caused by an allergen). Symptoms include itching, redness, vomiting, nausea, diarrhea among others. Some dogs even suffer from dryness of their skin if they use dove soap or any other dove product.

If your dog has a skin condition then it’s better to avoid using dove soap as it can lead to skin irritation and further complications. In such cases, it’s best to consult a vet before using any personal care product for your pal.
