When polymer clay gets wet, what happens?

Polymer clay is a waterproof oil-based material that can get wet, whether baked or unbaked. Water, on the other hand, can make the clay brittle if a design is submerged after baking. In other words, don’t submerge your polymer clay in water, but a little rain should be fine.
