Vanilla has a high alcohol content that is toxic to your dog. Vanilla extract. The stronger the better, this is supposed to be good for your digestive system. It is also supposed to be good for dogs that have “doggie diarrhea”, but be careful your dog might like it and want more after the first taste.
The purpose of this article is to inform you that dogs should not be given vanilla as a treat. I would even go as far as saying as much as try to prevent the dog from eating vanilla.
Dogs should not be given vanilla as a treat. The vanilla found in ice cream is safe for dogs to eat, but the flavor that comes from the bean is not good for your dog.
Before proceeding on with this article it would be a good idea to research ways of curing doggie diarrhea. That way you can see if this “remedy” helps your dog to stop diarrhea.
This may sound crazy to some people but there are incidences of dogs dying after consuming large amounts of this product. Dogs should NOT be given vanilla as a treat or food, because it’s toxic to them.
Symptoms of an overdose in dogs:
-lethargy,
-excitability
-vomiting.
My opinion is that it’s not worth the risk, you don’t need vanilla to live. Vanilla contains a high alcohol content that is toxic to your dog.
Additionally, it has a high alcohol content that’s bad for them. Don’t give your dog vanilla extract, or let him get into anything that contains it. There are many reports of dogs dying after consuming large amounts because it’s toxic to them.
We can conclude that the risk is just not worth the possible reward of a dog that might have “doggy diarrhea” from some unknown cause. Why take the chance of your dog possibly dying over a treat. If you are not sure if your dog is having “doggy diarrhea” or something else please consult a vet, because it could be fatal.
