Can you plaster over a brick fireplace?
Smooth the surface with bonding, then apply multifinish plaster. Dot and dab plasterboard and then skim over it to finish the job.
Can I use plaster on fireplace?
Wall and chimney breasts, hole in the wall fires, and cassette stoves can all benefit from the smooth finish protection of Vitcas® Heat Resistant Plaster. The Vitcas® Fireplace Render should be used in conjunction with this product.
Can you Venetian plaster over brick?
You can use a masonry bit and screws to drill into the brick or hammer them into the mortar joints. Fill in all of the cracks and crevices in the brick surface before applying Venetian plaster to ensure the best results. Allow at least a day between coats of paint to dry completely.
Is stucco over brick a good idea?
Brick and stucco are both masonry products, so they can be used together in most situations. If you have a brick wall that needs some cosmetic attention, stucco is the way to go.
