Is it OK if curtains don’t touch the floor?
Curtains should be long enough to reach the floor. Generally speaking, the longer the curtains are, the more stylish and elegant the room will appear. It’s for this reason that most ready-made curtains are long. Curtain lengths vary based on various decorating styles, but this isn’t always the case.
How close to floor should drapes be?
Designers advise letting your curtains “puddle” a little at the bottom so that they fall to the floor. Let your curtains stop about an inch from the floor when you open and close them, but don’t go any further than that.
Do curtains have to go all the way to the floor?
What is the ideal length for curtains? Unless there’s a radiator or a deep sill in the way, going floor-length is the way to go. The lengths of pre-made panels range from 63 inches to 144 inches. Round up your measurement from the floor to the desired location for the rod.
Can curtains be a few inches off the floor?
From the floor to about halfway between the window trim and the average ceiling, standard curtains typically hang. Allow the walls to determine the length of your curtain panels if you want to maximize visual height in a living room, library, den, or bedroom.
Should curtains sit on a window sill?
