“Rating plate” is a metal plate that is usually permanently affixed to the fireplace, insert, or stove. The model and serial numbers are located there. Gas fireplaces’ rating plates are located in the control panel.

The flame in the fireplace can be increased or decreased by turning the gas valve counterclockwise or clockwise, as desired, to alter the intensity. Turn the gas valve clockwise all the way to the “off” position to completely turn off the fireplace.
